Shaws Hill Seat, Main Road

Whatstandwell Social Club provided a seat and litter bin at the bottom of Shaws Hill overlooking a beautiful view over the Derwent Valley. The plaque on the seat reads:

Presented to the village by Whatstandwell Social Club to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II June 2012

In March 2016 the seat and litter-bin were demolished the result of car accident.

In July 2016 the club replaced the seat and litter bin.

In November 2016 the seat was further damaged after an attempt of theft. It was removed for repair (again) and its replacement installed in December 2016.
