EVENTS in 2017 organised by Whatstandwell Social Club

16 February 2017 Visit to the Derby CAMRA Winter Beer Festival
We would like to extend an invitation to anyone in the village interested in trying a few real ales, both local and national, at the Winter Beer festival this year.
This event was first tried out a couple of years ago by a small group of committee members and has proved a success so we would like to throw it open to anyone else who may be interested. A pint or two of fine foaming ale, a chat and the chance to meet a few new faces. For partners or anyone who perhaps is not partial to the beer, an alternative is available involving a visit with like-minded individuals to one of Derby’s restaurants for a nice meal.
We usually get the 5:45 p.m. train from Whatstandwell station and come back on the last or one before the last.

Possible new event – Well Dressing
The Social Club has been asked by organisers of the Crich Well Dressing            committee if there would be interest in the village producing a Panel to display somewhere suitable in Whatstandwell, to complement the one at Crich and possibly other local villages.
The committee would like to hear from any interested individuals who might be prepared to set up a team to take the project on. The clay filled tray will be provided but the choice of theme and the actual decoration would be down to the team.
If you would like to know more we would be happy to hear from you.
