The Whatstandwell Winter Gathering 2018 Report.
This, the second such event, was originally intended to be an opportunity for the senior members of the village to meet up for a couple of hours, enjoy some delicious food and a sherry or two and hopefully get to know each other a little better or catch up on the local news. As it turned out this year most of the seniors were from outlying villages but still everyone seemed to enjoy the occasion.
In any case the other two elements of the occasion went off very well. The children’s party was a success with the magician providing great entertainment with tricks and gags and Santa dishing out presents. Fortunately this year he managed to not make any of the kids cry! Food was wolfed down although word has it there wasn’t enough chocolate! (Is there ever?).
Finally the later evening bash until 12 midnight kicked in with two great live performances from “Big Entertainment” and “Laura Kelly”. Plenty to eat and drink helped the evening along nicely.
We intend to run this event again in 2019 and to give you a feel for the format, here are the details of last year’s………..
